"The 2004 Ghiaie della Furba is another earthy, powerful wine. Super-ripe and bold in its expression of dark fruit, this racy wine follows through on the palate with notes of chocolate, spices and licorice that add complexity on the long, powerful finish. The intensity and concentration are impressive here, but like many of the estate’s wines there is an element of elegance and balance that seems missing. Ghiaie delle Furba is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 10% Syrah that is aged in French oak. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2024. 90 points"
