"The 2006 Santa Cecilia is Nero d’Avola that spends 12 months in French oak. In this vintage it is a beautiful, refined wine, with pretty, layered notes of red fruits, sweet herbs, and licorice. A subtle note of mint comes through on the long finish. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2012. 90 points.
This is one of the better sets of wines I can remember tasting from Planeta. The estate seems to have dialed back the use of oak, and at their finest, the wines offer lovely balance."
