"Produced from one single vineyard, the eponymous 2016 Barco del Corneta behaved quite well in this cooler year. It fermented in used oak barrels with with indigenous yeasts, without any oenological products, then it matured in those barrels for nine months and was kept with lees that were not stirred. It's a lot more serious than Cucú, with the freshness of the year and a chalky minerality and tastiness. 9,984 bottles were filled in August 2017. Drink: 2018-2022. 93 points

Some of the wines from Barco del Corneta have changed names because of problems with the brands. They produce wines from Rueda and Arribes del Duero but they are all sold without appellation of origin. Not all have been produced again, so I tasted a smaller range this time."
