"The 2017 Ried Klostersatz Loibner Grüner Veltliner is very clear and fine on the elegant, bright and floral/herbal-scented nose. Lush and very elegant on the palate, this is an intense and firmly structured Veltliner with grip and tension. Picked ten days after the Dürbstreiner, this Veltliner was fermented in stainless steel and 1,500-liter barrel. Bottled in April and tasted in September 2018 in Oberloiben/Wachau. Drink: 2018-2028. 90 points

2017 was the earliest harvest before 2018, which started 14 days earlier than the previous year. The 2017s were harvested between September 13 and October 14; whereas in 2018, Erich Krutzler started on August 30. From the 2017 vintage, the Riesling Ried Kellerberg is outstanding, as is the Pfaffenberg Old Vines Grüner Veltliner. This is another excellent series from Erich Krutzler and Elisabeth Pichler, presented to me in September of this year."
