“The 2021 Parcela Duraznero is a new single-vineyard Moscatel Blanco from a specific plot with 50+-year-old ungrafted pergola vines. It fermented in 2,000-liter concrete eggs and matured in concrete for eight months. The wine has a cloudy golden color and an intense nose with notes of peach and quince, orange peel and spices; it’s reminiscent of an orange wine, but it’s not really the case. The wine is very tasty, with 13.5% alcohol, very good freshness and acidity and a long, dry finish with a chalky sensation. 1,200 bottles were filled in December 2021. Drink: 2022-2028. 94 points
They are planting more vineyards with the Listán Prieto material from the old vines and some Moscatel Blanco. They have five hectares and will plant two or three more. They built a new winery that went into production for the 2021 harvest. They now produce 50,000 bottles from the new IGs from the Valle de Calingasta, in the province of San Juan, Barreal and Hilario.”
