“The 2018 Craighall Vineyard Riesling is composed and powerful, with cheesecloth and brine, cold buttered toast, a hint of paraffin and kerosene through the finish. This is rippling and textural, with plenty of drive and pace. It’s austere, in its way. There’s plenty of time left to go, but it’s quiet right now—between drinking seasons, I’d say. 12% alcohol, sealed under Diam. Drink: 2025-2038. 92+ points
2022 was a transition vintage. Wilco Lam left in October 2022 just prior to the sale of the business, and so the wines were in barrel and mostly fermented but unfinished. The wines were then finished by winemaker Ben McNab in the same manner they would have been had Wilco still been there.”
