“Villa Bucci’s Riserva remains the region’s iconic and benchmark wine. Before Verdicchio’s modern-day rise in quality, Bucci was one of a handful of producers who believed in Verdicchio and communicated its importance to the world. To this day, the Bucci Riserva style of oak aging and superior fruit sets this wine apart. However, I must say that I would like to see more of a focus on their entry-level Verdicchio and Rosso, which display a vast disparity in quality from the Riserva and Villa Bucci wines. As we went to press, I received word that ownership is changing.”
