“The 2019 Beaune Toussaints 1er Cru, matured in one-third new oak, has a very fine bouquet of black cherries and wild strawberry, a hint of pressed violet emerging with aeration. Quite sensual. The palate is medium-bodied with a sweet core of plush red fruit laced with orange zest, leading to a structured finish with a little piquancy. Good potential, but it will need 3-4 years in bottle. Drinking window: 2023-2033. 90-92 points”
